Senior R&D Mechanical Design Engineer / MANAGER for compressors / pumps / turbomachines
Job Description
GNR has been retained to identify a SENIOR R&D DESIGN ENGINEER / MANAGER for a growing $100M organization that continually has double-digit growth! They have invested in and built a start-of-the-art research facility with extensive capabilities in-house.
Reporting directly to the CTO and working in the Advanced Development Center, you’ll play a significant role in RESEARCH & NEW PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT: helping to create solutions for critical MECHANICAL applications for Maritime, Aerospace/Defense, Energy, Industrial, Medical, and Critical Infrastructure customers.
Mentor a small team and utilize your technical depth to design & oversee multiple projects through the full life cycle + manage schedules & budgets.
Additional responsibilities include;
- Collaborate on strategic technical roadmaps, influence product development & advise internal leadership on projects and ROI.
- Work with Business Development to capture customer needs and stay abreast of market trends & new technologies.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Able to lead in the design, simulate, prototype, & testing of complex Mechanical / Electro-Mechanical products.
- Deep understanding of various COMPRESSOR / TURBO-MACHINERY / PUMPS technologies; reciprocating, scroll, rotary, vane, centrifugal, axial, pumps, or high-speed rotating machinery.
- 10+ years of MECHANICAL R&D product design experience
- Engineering / Technical Degree.
- CAD tools; 3D modeling (Autodesk Inventor, SolidWorks, AutoCAD) any of the following is a PLUS: CFD Fluid Dynamics, CFturbo, CAESES, or TURBOdesign Suite.
- U.S. Citizenship required
