Job Description

We are searching for an experienced LEAD MECHANICAL PROJECT ENGINEER with a strong PROJECT / PROGRAM background in the aerospace, aviation, defense, or space sectors.

 

This very stable, multi $B internationally owned organization needs an experienced individual for a $70M division that manufactures specialty mechanical components specifically used in aircraft & rotorcraft, helicopter engines, cockpits, cabin interiors, structures...

 

In this “highly visible” position, you will report directly to the VP of Programs & Engineering and manage full life cycle project / program activities for their critical defense product portfolio.

 

 

Responsibilities to include:

  • Hands-on” leader experienced with managing critical/complex PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS used in both Commercial and Defense applications.
  • Lead mechanical engineering initiatives & manage a couple project engineers on custom designs of critical/complex components.
  • Able to run programs full life cycle; capture, develop, schedule, mitigate risks, costs, testing, and delivery.
  • Collaborate with Business Development and Customers on technical requirements and contribute to the proposal & capture.
  • Lead R&D for NPD (design & development) proof of concept designs, cost estimates, materials, test…

 

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong Technical Engineering background specific to MECHANICAL components/parts or solutions used in aerospace/aviation products (structures, components, fix wing, rotorcraft, VTOL etec)
  • Ability to manage programs' full life cycle & collaborate with various departments across all disciplines throughout the organization.
  • Minimal travels to other facilities & divisions, customer sites, suppliers, as needed.
  • BS Engineering or similar Technical Degree
  • US Citizenship (eligibility for a DoD clearance is a PLUS)

 

 

OFFERING: Base salary + bonus + relocation assistance
